Saraya Jigger Lotion Launch, Murang’a County – 5th August 2024
(First ever jigger medication launched)
Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership with Saraya Kenya Launched Jigger Lotion (medication) in Murang’a County. Through extensive research, this new medication has proven to be more effective, user and pocket friendly in prevention and cure of Jigger infestation where all necessary ingredients have been consolidated into one product that simplifies the treatment process. The Jigger Lotion will ease the treatment process to the Jigger infested patients and the community health promoters(CHPs) as it’s easy to use and is to be used twice a week only.
The event was attended by the PS for public health and professional standards Mary Muthoni, Japanese Ambassador to Kenya Ken Okaniwa, Deputy Governor Murang’a County Stevin Muniania Mburu, Saraya officials and officiated by Ushiriki Wema Chairperson Tessie Musalia Mudavadi.

Huduma Mashinani, Ngutu Primary School, Mathioya Constituency, Muranga County - 18th May 2024
(Landslide/ floods victims replaced vital documents)
Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership with Ushiriki Wema Initiative launched Huduma Mashinani in Mathioya Constituency, Murang’a County. Huduma Mashinani is a National and County Government initiative, which is meant to take services close to the people and especially those who were affected by torrential rains which have been experienced in the country recently. The event was held in Mathioya constituency, Ngutu primary school where survivors of the recent landslide in the area are residing having lost all their possessions including import documents such Land Title Deeds, Identification cards, Birth certificates, Academic certificates among others. Area residents were encouraged to plant more trees and plants which would help in soil erosion prevention.

EASTER HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS, MURANG’A COUNTY - 1ST APRIL 2024
(Over 500 elderly and persons living with disability benefit)
Ahadi Kenya Trust celebrated Easter weekend in Ihiga ACK Church Muguru. After the church service, over 500 elderly persons were treated to a hot meal and later given assorted food packs, crutches and blankets to take home. The food packs would ensure that the elderly will have food on their table for a couple of days and the blankets will keep them warm during this cold season. The young generation was urged to shun alcohol and drugs and engage in meaningful income generating activities which would help them take care of their aged and sickly parents. The event was graced by Murang’a women rep Hon Betty Maina, County officials, MCAs and Church leaders. The agenda of the event was to spread love and joy to the least fortunate in our communities.

The National Jiggers Awareness Day, Trans Nzoia County, Saboti Constituency - 3rd March 2024

The National Jigger Awareness Day was cerebrated in Saboti constituency, Trans Nzoia County in Lukhome Market grounds. This year’s theme was "Collective action and shared ownership for Jigger eradication”. The event brought together different organizations including Saraya Kenya Company Ltd, Nagasaki University(KEMRI), Wash Alliance, Amref health Africa, Ampath, African Institute for health and development, Red cross Kenya, County and National Governments. Majority of those infested are School going. The students were given shoes and treatment kits where the CHPs (community health promoters) will follow up on the healing process. The event was graced by Hon Lilian Siyoi, Women representative, Trans Nzoia County.

LAUNCH OF SCREENING AND TESTING OF NCDs AMONG THE ELDERLY, KANDARA CONSTITUENCY, MURANG’A COUNTY- 7TH FEB 2024

Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership with Ushiriki Wema Initiative launched an early screening and testing of hypertension and diabetes among the elderly at Kagunduini grounds in Kandara, Murang’a County. It has been noted that majority of elderly persons are living with hypertension and diabetes without their knowledge, and these conditions are only discovered when they are already at advanced stages. Caretakers were urged to take the elderly in medical facilities near them for testing and screening regularly, as it would help to manage complications that arise due to hypertension and diabetes. Community health promoters (CHPs) were encouraged to conduct the screening and testing in homes and communicate with the health facilities on their findings for further actions. During the event the elderly were gifted with assorted foodstuffs. The event was graced by Her Excellency Madam Tessie Musalia, nominated Member of Parliament Hon Wanjiru Chege and other guests. The event doubled up with Dr Kamau’s 55th Birthday.

Christmas tree lighting for children living with disability, Nairobi county- 20th Dec 2023
(Children living cerebral palsy and Autistic benefit)
Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership with Ushiriki Wema Initiative, hosted Autistic and Children living with Cerebral Palsy in Ahadi Kenya Trust Nairobi offices ground. During the event, the children were treated with different Christmas gifts including walking aids, wheelchairs and assorted food stuff. Parents were urged to register their children with the association of persons living with disabilities (APDK).. In attendance during the event were Sympathy hands foundation, Mudavadi foundation, Ushiriki Wema, Precious Blessing foundation and other well wishers. The event was graced by CS Hon Peninah Malonza-OGW, CS for Ministry of EAC, Arid and Semi-Arid Lands and Regional Development and Her Excellency Madam Tessie Musalia Mudavadi.

International Day For Persons Living With Disability, Nairobi County - 3rd Dec 2023
(Over 400 persons benefitted)
Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership with Ushiriki Wema Initiative, NCBA Bank, Kimisitu Sacco and Sweet Aroma foundation celebrated International day for persons living with disability in Dagoretti North constituency, Nairobi County. During the event, PWD’s were encouraged to engage in income generating activities which are flexible to run such as poultry and agricultural farming, avocado, other fruits, staple food and vegetable farming which are less strenuous. Such engagements would help them earn a living and keep them off begging and being taken advantage of by the community. Parents with children living with disabilities were also urged not to hide their children at home, but rather enroll them in special schools within their home areas so that that they can get exposure and interact with other children. During the event, 1000 hass avocado seedlings, wheel chairs, walking aids and assorted food stuffs were donated. The event was graced by NCBA group Director, Marketing Madam Nelly Wainaina and Dagoretti North constituency member of parliament Hon John Kiarie (KJ). PWD’s were also encouraged to register with Association of persons living with disability Kenya (APDK) so that they be benefitting with donations from the government and other well wishers who channel their donations through APDK.

WOMEN ON BOARDS AWARDS CEREMONY, NAIROBI COUNTY - 27TH NOV 2023

Ahadi Kenya Trust C.E.O/Founder Dr Stanley Kamau was awarded ‘The Male Champion of Women Agenda’, by Women on Boards Network (WOBN). Dr Kamau has worked tirelessly in empowering women to rise in various capacities from the grass root level to executive levels. He has been recognized for working in various women led establishments such as Beyond Zero which is led by the former First Lady Mama Margaret Kenyatta, Mama Sarah Obama Initiative, Victoria Beckham among others and currently he is the advisor to Madam Tessie Musalia, spouse to the Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon Musalia Mudavadi.

Posho Mills Donation, Thika Town Constituency - Kiambu County - 10th Nov 2023
(Over 350 youth and women benefit)
Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership with TiKA and Ushiriki Wema Initiative donated 7 Posho Mill machines to 3 youth groups and 4 women groups. The aim for the donations is to create employment and help curb criminal activities amongst the youth in the area. The posho mills will also help the communities around in getting quality maize flour. The groups also received 50 bags of maize each for the start off.
During the event, the youth and women were encouraged to form groups and register with the government department of social services so that when opportunities for funding and donation arise they benefit.
The event was graced by TiKA Country Director Yasemin Cansuz Kurt, Thika town constituency MP Alice Ng’ang’a, the Guest of Honor was H.E Madam Tessie Musalia.

International Day for the older persons, Mathioya, Muranga County - 1st Oct 2023
(Over 500 elderly benefitted)
Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership with Ushiriki Wema, Lotto Foundation and other organizations celebrated the International Day for the older persons over the weekend. The event was held in Murang’a County, Mathioya Constituency, Chui Village. It was attended by over 500 senior citizens. During the event, youths were urged to take care of the elderly in the community and also take them to the registration centers where registration for the elderly is ongoing. Dr Kamau urged young generation to take responsibility of their children instead of dumping them in the rural areas with their aged parents. The administration was requested to protect the elderly from thugs who are stealing the senior citizen's monthly stipend they are receiving from the government.
The event was graced by representatives from Ushiriki Wema Initiative, Lotto Foundation, nominated Member of Parliament Hon Wanjiru Chege and friends of Ahadi Kenya Trust. The attendees were gifted assorted food stuffs and blankets.

Community policing Murang’a County, Mathioya Constituency – 16th Dec 2022

Ahadi Kenya Trust together with Commissioner of police in charge of operations Central Region Peter Kattam and police officers in Nyakianga police station distributed assorted food stuffs to over 100 women during the police get together event. The donations were in partnership with Ahadi Kenya Trust and Nyakianga Police officers. Dr Kamau proposed that suggestion boxes be placed in shopping centers across the country where people can be posting information they have regarding any suspicious activities or persons. The event motivated the residents to interact freely with the police officers and report to them any criminal activities without fear of intimidation.

Inua Jamii sensitization campaign, Mathioya Constituency, Muranga County - 9th September 2023
(Over 200 elderly and persons living with disabilities benefitted)
Ahadi Kenya Trust over the weekend staged a sensitization event dabbed ‘Inua Jamii’ which is a government initiative to have all the elderly, orphans and persons living with disabilities registered so that they will benefit from the government monthly cash transfer for the poor and vulnerable citizens.
Dr Kamau urged Murang’a residents to take responsibility of the elderly, orphans and persons living with disability by taking them to registration centers. During the event which took place at Wanjohi Vocational training Center, over 200 elderly and persons living with disabilities benefitted with assorted food stuffs. The event was graced by Murang’a County CEC youth and Gender Noah Gachucha, MCAs Morris Thuku and Esther Muthoni.

Fruit Tree planting Launch, Kiharu Constituency, Muranga County - 7th July 2023

Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership with NCBA Bank launched Avocado fruit trees planting in Murang’a County, Kiharu Constituency - Kiangage village. The fruit tree campaign was aimed at supporting the elderly and persons living with disability in Kiharu Constituency. The community was urged to support the vulnerable persons in planting and growing of fruit trees in their farms for personal nutritional gains and commercial purposes. The fruit trees will also serve as an environmental conservation measure and help in climate changes and re-afforestation in the country. The elderly benefited with blankets and assorted food stuffs.

Livelihood Empowerment Project, Vihiga County - 23rd June 2023

Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership with Ushiriki Wema and NCBA Bank launched fruit tree planting drive for persons living with disability in Vihiga County. Through Vihiga County government, the seedlings will be distributed across the county as a way of economic empowerment to persons living with disability at the comfort of their homes. The event was graced by spouse to the Prime Cabinet Secretary Madam Tessie Musalia who urged pwd’s to engage in less strenuous economic activities where they can earn some money and better their lives. In attendance were the Vihiga County Governor His Excellency Wilber Ottichillo and his deputy, Mr. Wilberforce Kitiezo. The County government of Vihiga assured security to PWD’s in their economic engagement activities. The attendee’s were gifted food packages.

Fight against alcohol and drug abuse, Murang’a county - 22nd April 2023
(Youth and women empowerment)
Ahadi Kenya Trust donated posho mills to youth and women groups in Murang’a County, drawn from Kanyenyaini and Wangu wards. The posho mills will be used to generate income and create employment for both women and youth. The donation comes in as an effort to fight substance, drugs and alcohol use which has become rampant in the area. The youths were urged to keep off alcohol and drugs as it will make them less productive and irresponsible in the society. They also received Hass avocado seedlings to plant in their farms. The event was graced by Kanyenyaini ward MCA, Grace City, and Wangu ward MCA, Margaret Kang’ata.

National Jiggers Awareness Day, Khwisero Sub county Kakamega County - 3rd March 2023
(Call for national baseline survey)
Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership with the National & County governments, Partners and well wishers held the National Jiggers Awareness Day in Kakamega County. This year’s theme was “Jigger Awareness and Elimination is Our Responsibility”. They called on the government to carry out a National baseline survey for easy allocation of funds to eradicate jiggers.
Over 300 people including school going children were treated during the event. Headmasters were urged not send away pupils who are Jigger infested from school, instead assist them get treatment through the sub-county public health officer. Community health volunteers were tasked to make a follow up on the people treated to ensure they get healed completely and sensitize other community members on the importance of practicing proper hygiene and sanitation to avoid jigger infestation and re-infestation.
The event was graced by the Head of Public Health Department, Ministry of Health, National government Dr Susan Mutua and Deputy Governor of Kakamega Mr. Ayub Savula.

Empowering widows and the elderly in Kigumo Constituency,Murang’a County - 31st Jan 2023
(Over 500 widows and senior citizens receive relief food)
Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership with “Ushiriki Wema`` an initiative spearheaded by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi wife, Madam Tessie Musalia donated foodstuff, blankets and weaving materials to support over 300 widows and the elderly in Muthithi, Kigumo constituency, Murang’a County. Other partners included Jumia Kenya who donated clothes to the elderly and shoes to the boda boda fraternity. The event that was held at PCEA Church Muthithi grounds saw more than 200 baskets bought by the guest to create income for the elderly.
The event was graced by Madam Tessie Musalia, Others present included County Commissoner, Jumia Kenya officials, volunteers and well wishers. The community was urged to respect the elderly and give them a dignified life.

Lighting Christmas tree for children living with disability, Karatina – Nyeri County – 19th Dec 2022
(Over 150 children living with Cerebral Palsy assessed)
More than 150 children living with disabilities were assessed by a team from KNH Othaya during a Christmas tree lighting excercise by Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership with Mudavadi foundation held in Karatina, Nyeri County. The event was held at the Brookfield Academy grounds.
The event was graced by the Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi`s wife, Madam Tessie Musalia. Parents and guardians of the children received a Christmas gift hamper containing Weetabix, Lentils, Green grams, cooking oil, maize flour, wheat flour, salt, rice, beans and bar soap. Parents were encouraged to take the children to schools and institutions and not keep them locked at home.

Mass registration of persons living with disability launch – Isiolo County – 3rd Dec 2022

Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership with Mudavadi foundation launched a mass registration exercise for persons living with disability during the UN Day for persons living with disability in Isiolo County. The event which was held at the Isiolo police grounds saw over 1000 persons living with disability registered. The pwd’s also benefitted with relief food packages. Other items donated were wheelchairs and several pairs of crutches.

Food distribution, Kapenguria, West Pokot County – 15th Nov 2022
(Door to door campaign launched)
Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership with Mudavadi Foundation launched a door-to-door relief food distribution in Kapenguria, West Pokot County, Aramaket slum. Over 550 households benefitted from the launch. The initiative is targeting the elderly, persons living with disability, orphans and vulnerable persons in the communities. The food package had 2kgs Rice, 2 kgs Beans, 2 kgs Maize flour, 1 kg Green grams, 1 Bar soap, 1 Litre Cooking oil and ½ kg salt.
The event was graced by the Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi`s wife, Madam Tessie Mudavadi and the First Lady of West Pokot County Madam Scovia Kachapin. The event is aimed at helping the people who have been affected by drought that has hit the country.

Cancer Awareness Campaign – Murang’a County – 21st Oct 2022
(Cancer patients and survivors benefit with solar cookers)
Ahadi Kenya Trust launched a training program for the social workers on how to make low-cost solar cookers. The training was launched during the Cancer Awareness campaign month in Murang’a County. The low-cost solar cookers will help in preventing air pollution which is usually emanates from use of kerosene, gas, charcoal and firewood. The solar cookers will help the cancer patients from in-haling harmful gases during cooking which makes their health to be at more risk due their compromised immunity. The event was graced by Madam Tessie Mudavadi, spouse to Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon. Musalia Mudavadi. Ten cancer patients received the solar cookers and its cooking accessories.

Economic empowerment program launch, Kangema Constituency, Murang’a County – 17th Sept 2022
(Six Ex- candidates benefit in the initiative)
Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership with Democracy and Governance organizations launched a country wide empowerment initiative to help the candidates who lost in the just concluded general elections. The initiative aims at reintegrating those candidates back to the community and help them rebuild their livelihood, improve their income and have food security. 5 beneficiaries received 50 hybrid chicks ( 2 weeks old) and the 6th beneficiary received a freshian cow. A secondary school teacher who had resigned to vye for the member of county assembly but lost, kanyeyaini ward received a cheque of kshs 250,000/to help him rebuild his house after it was torched during the electioneering period. The elderly persons were gifted with blankets and foodstuff to help them keep warm during this cold season.

Donation of Posho Mills – Murang’a County – 23rd July 2022
(Women and youth groups benefit)
Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership with Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TiKA) donated five posho mills and 50 bags of maize to two youth groups and three women self help groups in Murang’a County. The groups benefited from the donation which will help them to generate income. The groups also received assorted food stuff, hass svocado seedlings and a hand washing station. The event was graced by TiKA Country Director Mr Eyup Yavuz Umuhu. During the event, the groups were traind on how to use the posho mills. The project is to compliment the government efforts to reduce high prices of maize flour. The groups were requested to support the elderly, persons living with disability and other vulnerable members of the society by milling for them at no fee.

Distribution of adjustable shoes, Kandara Constituency-Murang’a County – 2nd May 2022
(Launch of 'shoes that grows')
Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership with Because International, a US-based organization, distributed Adjustable Shoes to pupils of Gathige primary school in Kandara constituency, Murang’a County. The two organizations will partner in the Adjustable Shoes distribution countrywide, that will control jigger infestation in Kenya. The shoes will also enable the pupils to walk to school comfortably. The locally manufactured shoes has an adjustable Velcro on the sides and on the sides, in front it has a hook that makes it possible to adjust the size of the shoe length and width as the leg grows up to a period of 2 years. These shoes will save the parents the burden of buying new shoes every year as the child grows. During the event, over 100 families received assorted foodstuff and jigger-infested pupils were treated. The event was graced by Because International Director of Programs Madam Emily Alleu.

Civic Education in Murang’a County, Mathioya Constituency – 16th April 2022

Ahadi Kenya Trust conducted civic education for residents of Gitugi ward in Mathioya constituency in Murang’a County. The residents were taken through the electoral processes that are to be followed during the election period. The residents were informed on the importance of making informed decisions when electing candidates of their choice, as it will impact their future after the elections. The residents to elect leaders based on performance other than political parties and also keep off activities and events that may provoke political violence. During the event, over 1,000 residents received assorted food stuff and children were gifted with snacks.

Economic Livelihood Project Launch – Murang’a County ,Mathioya Constituency – 25th March 2022
(Ahadi Kenya Trust 15th Anniversary)
Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership with Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) launched a sustainable economic livelihood project in Murang’a County, as Ahadi Kenya Trust marked it's 15th anniversary. During the event, 30,000 Hass avocado trees and banana seedlings were distributed to 1500 farmers, 10 secondary schools and 10 health centers. Assorted food stuff was distributed to more than 600 aged and persons living with disability. The launch took place at Gitugi Dispensary. It was graced by Turkish Ambassador to Kenya Ahmet Cemil Miroglu and former Prime Minister’s wife Mama Ida Odinga.

The National Jiggers Awareness Day, Busia County, Teso South Constituency - 3rd March 2022
(Improving livelihoods through Jigger eradication)
The National Jigger Awareness Day was cerebrated in Busia County, Teso South constituency in Ngelechom primary school grounds that saw over 200 people treated. This year’s theme was ’’Improving livelihoods through Jigger eradication”. The event brought together different organizations including Saraya Kenya Company Ltd, National Social Security Fund (NSSF), Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and the county government. The School community benefitted with Jigger treatment kits (basins, soap, towels, Vaseline and nail cutters) shoes, slippers, sanitizers, gloves and Fumigation and Jigger treatment medications. The event was graced by the Head of Department of Public Health Madam Susan Mutua, National Government. Apart from jigger awareness, the community was urged to keep safe from Covid-19 by wearing masks all the time, maintaining social distance and cleaning hands using running water and soap or by using sanitizer.

Free Legal Aid clinic for widows and Persons with disabilities Launched– Murang’a County – 17th Dec 2021

Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership with Lotto Foundation launched a free legal aid clinic for widows and persons with disability in Gatanga constituency, Murang’a County. The clinic was aimed at sensitizing the widows and persons living with disability on inheritance, succession and compensation from their late spouses’ family and former spouses’ employers. It has been noted with a lot of concern that widows and persons living with disability have been in and out of court, trying to get legal help over inheritance and compensation issues without much help. Some lawyers have as well infringed the rights of the widows and persons living with disability by pocketing the compensation without their knowledge. The free legal clinic was supported by The African Global Initiative. During the function over 200 persons were gifted with foodstuff and other materials.

Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership with National Social Security Fund (NSSF) donated Covid-19 and jigger prevention materials to 17 primary schools in Kiambu County. The donations will help the pupils in adhering to the government set guidelines on Covid-19 prevention and personal hygiene. The donations included jigger treatment kits (basins, bar soaps, gloves, jigger medications, six steps posters) hand washing stations, masks, liquid soap and sanitary towels. The event was graced by the Cabinet Secretary for Education Professor George Magoha, who urged the students to study hard and observe the set guidelines on Jigger and Covid-19 prevention measures. Also in attendance was NSSF Registration and collection manager Mr. Evans Ombui.

Civic Education in Kiharu Constituency, Gatheru Dispensary, Murang’a County – 2nd July 2021
(Launch of a Countrywide Civic Education)
Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership with Ford Foundation launched a countrywide civic education on democracy and governance targeting local government administrators, community volunteers and social workers. The initiative aims at educating local communities and government officers the roles of leaders in elective posts as the country approaches general election next year. This will help the community to understand the roles of their elected leaders and hold them accountable for any miss and plus displayed. The elderly were gifted with blankets and assorted food foodstuff while the youths and the local administrators benefitted with Hass Avocado seedlings which is part of environmental conservation, re-aforestation and an income generating project. The event was attended by local administration and Murang’a Assistant County Commissioner Mr. Kimani Mbogo. The people were also insisted on the importance of abiding to the set Covid-19 rules to help reduce the infection rates.

Award ceremony at Karung’e primary school, Mathioya, Murang’a County – 21st May 2021
(Teachers awarded for improved performance)
Karung’e Primary School in Mathioya Constituency, Murang’a County, was the best improved school in the County. The school which previously had a very high number of pupils infested with jiggers but since recovered, recorded the good performance due to the commitment of pupils and teachers. The teachers were awarded with assorted gifts. The ceremony also witnessed the handing over of an ablution block that was funded by Toilet Africa Initiative and the ground breaking of construction of a multi-purpose hall at Karung’e Secondary School. The event was graced by the area MP Hon Peter Kimari. The students and the community were urged to adhere to the Covid-19 rules and regulations to help curb the spread of Corona Virus.

Tree planting project launch, Kenyatta National
Hospital Othaya, Nyeri County – 7rd May 2021
(Discharged patients to receive seedlings)
Patients discharged from KNH Othaya will go home with both indigenous
and fruit trees. This is after Ahadi Kenya Trust in partnership
with WWF Kenya and Lotto Foundation donated over 5,000 tree sedlings.
The seedlings are to be planted in the hospital garden and others
will be donated to the patients to plant in their respective homes.
This will add more nutritional and environmental value to the patients
and the community at large. The community was advised to adhere
to the Covid-19 guidelines to help curb the spread of the killer
virus. The event was graced by the Minister of Health, Dr. Mutahi
Kagwe.

The National Jiggers Awareness Day, Maragwa, Murang’a
County - 3rd March 2021
(Enhancing personal hygiene to stop Jigger infestation)
The Ministry of Health and Education in partnership with Ahadi Kenya
marked The National Jigger Awareness Day in Maragwa constituency,
Murang’a County in Mihang’o primary school grounds.
This year’s theme was ’’Enhancing personal Hygiene
to stop Jigger Infestation”. The event brought together different
organizations including Saraya Kenya Company Ltd, Lotto Foundation,
Ministry of Health, Madison Insurance Company, Nanyuki Oasis and
the Ministry of Education. The event benefitted 12 primary schools
and 5 secondary schools. The schools recieved masks, sanitizers,
buckets, basins, hand washing liquid soap, hand washing stations
among others things. The event was graced by the CAS for education
madam Mumina Bonaya and Dr Warfa Osman who represented the Minister
for Health Dr Mutahi Kagwi. The community was emphasized on the
importance of maintain proper hygiene and sanitation to curb Jigger
infestations and minimize the spread of Covid-19.

Food and other essentials distribution to B.O.M teachers in Mathioya, Murang’a County – 25th July 2020
(B.O.M teachers who lost jobs due to COVID-19 benefit)
Fifty Five (55) teachers who lost their jobs due to COVID-19 benefitted with food stuffs and other essentials. The teachers have not received any salary since March this year. They are not able to provide food for their families leading them to engage in casual jobs within the community. Some teachers have fallen into depression since they are not able to pay bills including rent and provide for their families. The teachers were urged to seek for other means of livelihood including farming.

Launch of Keep Kenya Breathing campign, Maragwa, Murang’a County – 3rd July 2020
(20,000 trees distributed)
More than 20,000 trees will be distributed to Eight Sub counties in Muranga County.WWF-Kenya in partnership with Ahadi Kenya Trust launched the campaign dubbed “Keep Kenya Breathing” in Maragwa sub County Murang’a County. The campaign will see assorted trees planted in different parts of the County. The main aim of the campaign is to raise awareness on the importance of environmental conservation by planting trees. The trees (fruit) will also serve as an income generating activity to the farmers as they will be able to sell fruits once they have matured. During the exercise, community members were sensitized on the importance of keeping safe from contracting CORONA Virus by keeping distance, wearing masks all the time, hand washing with soap and running water and using sanitizer. The members were also given food stuffs and other essentials. The event was graced by the CAS of Ministry of Environment and Forestry Mr. Mohammed Elmi.

Fight Against COVID-19, Mathioya, Murang’a County – 6th June 2020
(Hand washing stations and non-body contact thermometer donated)
Six (6) hand washing stations were distributed to different institutions in Gitugi Location, Mathioya in Muranga County. The project was in partnership with Lotto Foundation in the fight against COVID-19. The beneficiaries included Nyakianga police station, Nyakianga dispensary, Gitugi dispensary, Nyangiti dispensary, Mihuti dispensary - which also benefitted from a Thermo Gun -and Gikoe Tea buying center This will help the residents and visitors in these facilities in adhering to the government directives on washing hands with soap and running water, wearing masks all the time, sanitizing and observing social distance. Together we shall overcome.

COVID-19, Supporting Taxi drivers and Boda Boda Riders, Nairobi County – 2nd-4thJune 2020
(10,000 Face masks and sanitizers donated)
In partnership with the National Social Security Fund, we donated face masks and sanitizers to Digital Taxi Forum and Boda Boda Association of Kenya (BAK). Digital Taxi Forum donations were handed over at Uhuru Park by NSSF CEO/Managing Trustee Dr Antony Omerikwa. NSSF signed an MOU with the Digital Taxi Forum and Little Cabs for the provision of social protection and social health insurance for DTF members in the presence of the National Transport Safety Association. The Boda Boda Association of Kenya (BAK) donations to benefit 6 counties in the fight against COVID-19 were handed over at KICC. The donations were flagged off by the Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru ministry of ICT, Innovations and youth Affairs. The event was graced by CS Simeon Chelungui ministry of Labour and Social protection and CS Prof Margaret Kobia ministry of Public Service and Gender. The President/Chairman of Boda Boda Association of Kenya Mr. Kevin Mubadi represented all the Boda Boda riders during the event. Other stakeholders in the event included UNFPA and UN-HABITAT who donated the hand washing stations and girls kit respectively.

Distribution of food in Mathioya Constituency, Murang’a County – 25th April 2020
(Recovered jigger patients offer help)
A group of recovered jigger patients, who were rehabilitated and empowered, offered food donation to more than 150 families affected by COVID 19 pandemic in Mathioya Constituency, Murang’a County. The food donations included Maize flour, cooking oil, bananas, chicken and uji mix. The group was initially relying on well wishers for survival but after been empowered they are today supporting other vulnerable members of the society. The food will be distributed to the affected families by the provincial administration together with the county government officials.
Ahadi Kenya Trust is in the frontline of sensitizing citizens in adhering to the Government directives on practicing social distancing, sanitizing, staying at home and washing hands with soap and water.

COVID-19, Supporting immigration, DCI and the police force, Nairobi County - 10 April 2020
(Sanitizers, face masks and water donated)
In partnership with National Social Security Fund (NSSF) we donated face masks, sanitizers and water to the immigration department, Police and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in the fight against COVID-19. The donations were handed over by NSSF CEO/Managing Trustee Anthony Omerikwa to Director General of Immigration Mr. Alexander Muteshi, Inspector General of police Mr. Hillary Mutyambai and the Director General - Directorate of Criminal Investigations Mr. George Kinoti respectively. Ahadi Kenya is in the front line urging people to wash hands, sanitize, keep distance and to stay at home to prevent the spread of corona virus.

The National Jiggers Awareness Day, Malindi, Kilifi County - 3rd March 2020

The National jigger awareness day was celebrated in Kilifi County, Malindi sub-county, Msabaha grounds. This year’s theme was “Integrating all health needs of communities through empowering individuals to take charge”. The event brough together different organizations including; Jumia, Kanco Kenya, Imarika Foundation and County Government of Kilifi among others. The day saw over 150 children treated of jiggers, others screened of Pnemonia and immunized. Other activities included awarding community health volunteers for their efforts in eradicating jiggers and distribution of shoes and slippers to school going children.

Handing over Dining furniture Nandi County – 10th January 2020
(Girls school receive new dining furniture)
ACK Kapkolei girl’s secondary school benefited with new dining furniture during the commissioning of their new dining hall. They received 40 tables and 80 benches that were donated by Lotto Foundation in partnership with Ahadi Kenya Trust. The event was graced by the Cabinet Secretary for Lands M/s Farida Karoney and attended by Nandi county government officials and Provincial Administration from the County. The teams also donated sports balls for Volley Ball, Netball and Football.
