About the Staircase Relay

The Relay entails participants racing to the top of the historic KICC skyscraper in Nairobi City and back down using the lengthy staircase. Other activities on this family fun day include sack race, three-legged race, tug-of-war and egg race. All the participants are awarded certificates while the winners recieve trophies.

Why the Jigger Staircase Relay?

• To raise funds for supporting treatment and rehabilitation of children infested with jiggers in Kenya.
• To recognize the milestones covered in the anti-jigger campaign over the past 7 years.
• To fuel local & international awareness of the jigger menace.
• To drum up government, non government and corporate support in the fight to completely eradicate jiggers.
• To build strong networks as a source of learning and sharing of best CSR practices and team building exercise.
• To celebrate the organizations, individuals and corporate who have tirelessly volunteered towards this cause over the past 7 years.
To come together in a fun and competitive manner for purposes of eradicating jiggers from Africa.
To interact with former jigger victims, now healed and fit to race
